Contraindications: Testosterone Cypionate is contraindicated in individuals with androgen-sensitive prostate or breast carcinoma, severe untreated cardiovascular disease, polycythaemia, or known hypersensitivity to testosterone or sesame oil. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant must not use this product.
Side Effects: Supraphysiological androgen administration may produce acne, accelerated scalp hair thinning in genetically predisposed individuals, elevated haematocrit, increased LDL cholesterol, suppression of endogenous gonadotrophin secretion, and — due to aromatisation — gynaecomastia and fluid accumulation. Contest-phase water retention is particularly sensitive to estrogenic activity and requires active management.
Monitoring: Serum testosterone, LH, FSH, oestradiol, full lipid panel, haematocrit, and haemoglobin should be assessed at baseline and at 6–8 week intervals throughout a competition prep cycle. Liver enzyme panels, while less critical for injectable testosterone than for oral 17-alpha-alkylated compounds, remain advisable in comprehensive blood work. Blood pressure should be self-monitored weekly during contest prep given the diuretic and sodium-manipulation practices common in that phase.
PCT: Following the conclusion of a Testosterone Cypionate-based contest-prep cycle, a structured post-cycle therapy protocol using SERMs (selective oestrogen receptor modulators) such as tamoxifen or clomiphene is required to stimulate HPG axis recovery. The extended half-life of the cypionate ester necessitates an appropriate washout interval before PCT initiation; consult a qualified healthcare provider for personalised timing guidance.
