Contraindications: Clenbuterol is contraindicated in individuals with pre-existing cardiac arrhythmias, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, uncontrolled hypertension, hyperthyroidism, or a documented hypersensitivity to sympathomimetic amines. Do not use concurrently with monoamine oxidase inhibitors or other adrenergic stimulants without medical evaluation.
Side Effects: Commonly reported adverse effects include fine motor tremor (especially hands), insomnia or reduced sleep quality, skeletal-muscle cramping, elevated resting heart rate, headache, and excessive perspiration. These effects are dose-dependent — reducing the daily intake by one 40 mcg tablet typically reduces symptom intensity within 48 hours. Severe palpitations, chest tightness, or cardiac arrhythmia require immediate cessation and medical attention.
Monitoring: Resting heart rate should be measured each morning before the daily tablet; values consistently exceeding 100 bpm suggest the current dose exceeds individual tolerance. Electrolyte status — specifically serum potassium and magnesium — should be assessed at cycle entry and at the mid-cycle point. Sleep quality and tremor severity should be tracked on a daily log to guide dose decisions objectively.
PCT: Clenbuterol does not suppress the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis, so post-cycle therapy targeting testosterone recovery is not required when used as a standalone compound. However, when stacked with anabolic-androgenic steroids, PCT appropriate to those compounds applies. A recovery period of at least four weeks off clenbuterol is advisable before beginning a new cycle to allow adrenergic receptor sensitivity to normalise.
