Contraindications: Clomiphene Citrate is contraindicated in individuals with liver disease, ovarian cysts unrelated to polycystic ovary syndrome, unexplained uterine bleeding, or known hypersensitivity to Clomiphene. Do not use concurrently with aromatase inhibitors unless under medical supervision, as combined estrogen suppression may produce an excessively hypo-estrogenic state.
Side Effects: Reported adverse effects include visual disturbances (blurred vision, light sensitivity), mood fluctuation, hot flushes, and headache. Visual symptoms require immediate discontinuation. Elevated LH can transiently worsen acne in susceptible individuals. Prolonged use beyond six weeks at 50mg has been associated with anti-estrogenic effects on semen parameters.
Monitoring: Obtain serum total testosterone, LH, FSH, and estradiol at minimum at two time points: immediately before starting PCT (to confirm compound clearance) and at the end of week four (to assess recovery adequacy). Liver enzyme screening is advisable for cycles that preceded PCT with hepatotoxic oral compounds.
PCT: Clomiphene Citrate functions as a SERM, not an anabolic agent; its role ends with restoration of endogenous testosterone production. Never use as an in-cycle compound to manage estrogen — reserve it exclusively for the correctly timed post-clearance recovery phase.
